Shanghai China Sourcing Fairs Attract More Than 37,000 Buyers — Stage Set for Largest Ever Fairs in Hong Kong in 2006



HONG KONG, Nov. 8, 2005 - Global Sources (NASDAQ: GSOL) fall China Sourcing Fairs attracted more than 37,000 buyers from 136 countries. The China Sourcing Fairs: Electronics & Components (October 10-12) and Gifts & Home Products (October 18-20) were held in Shanghai, China. Momentum is building for the first ever Hong Kong China Sourcing Fairs, which will be held in 2006 at AsiaWorld-Expo.

Global Sources chairman and chief executive officer, Merle A. Hinrichs, said: "High buyer attendance at the fall shows confirms that the China Sourcing Fairs are now firmly established on buyers' trade show schedules.

Some of the world's largest retailers hosted Vendor Summits at the fall 2005 fairs, including MGB METRO and QVC in the gifts and home products categories, and Brookstone, Samsung and Mueller Electric for electronics and components.

Buyers rely on China Sourcing Fairs to buy direct from China
Buyers gave high marks to the quality of products and suppliers at the fall fairs, with 84 percent planning to buy from exhibitors they met at the fair within six months.

One buyer, chief operating officer for U.S. company Nanshet Limited, Carleton Bedell, said: "I'm very impressed with the products I have seen — there is a huge variety and the quality meets international standards. I will definitely visit the Hong Kong China Sourcing Fairs to source more products."

One exhibitor at the Fair, Techwise general manager Eric Tzeng, said, "The buyers who visit China Sourcing Fairs are very professional. A full 80 percent of people who visited our booth are potential clients. We have already signed up to exhibit at the April 2006 fair in Hong Kong."
