World's Largest Buyers Attend China Sourcing Fairs — Exhibitors and Visitors Give Shows Top Marks; Sold-out Gifts & Home Products Fair Opens on Saturday

China Sourcing Fair: Electronics & Components buyers included representatives from IBM, NEC, Panasonic, Philips, RadioShack, Samsung, Skyworth, Staples, Vtech Electronics and others.

One buyer, Staples' Asia Sourcing Manager, Jeffrey Jiang, said: "The Fairs were incredibly well-organized. And transportation couldn't have been easier. Just a one-minute train ride from Hong Kong Airport and I was at the Fair visiting suppliers."

Buyer teams who visited the China Sourcing Fair: Fashion Accessories included Coles Myer, Li & Fung, Baleno, Carrefour, Gap, Giorgio Armani, Levi Strauss, Marks & Spencer, Sisley, Swarovski, ThreeSixty Sourcing, Tommy Hilfiger and Nike.

One fashion accessories buyer, Dimodes' Delphine Masquelier, said: "I already visited the show yesterday. The special nature of the Fair, featuring only fashion accessories, is perfect for us who deal only with fashion accessories."

Another buyer, Stella Doca of Stella Doca-Pantelis Hatzifotiadis, said: "I spent three days at the show. While seeing my existing suppliers from China, I met many new suppliers."

Exhibitors from mainland China and Asia participate
One electronics exhibitor, Apollo Worldwide Marketing Manager Evon Chow, said: "Exhibiting at this Global Sources show in Hong Kong has given us the opportunity to meet with the kinds of quality buyers we want to work with. We've already secured a larger booth for the China Sourcing Fair in October - as well as the April and October 2007 shows!"

Another electronics exhibitor, Tiger NetCom General Manager Robert Luo, said: "Even before the completion of day one, I had seen enough buyer traffic to be satisfied. I saw existing customers but most of our visitors were new contacts."

Many of Asia's major manufacturers exhibited, including new suppliers from mainland China's emerging sourcing centers.

One fashion exhibitor, Zhejiang Textiles Import & Export Group sales executive Cynthia Wang, said: "We've been exporting to the Middle East and we wanted to increase the proportion of business in United States and Europe. At the show, while meeting buyers from these regions, we also learned the trends and their preferences, which helped us a lot in developing new items in future."

Another exhibitor, Fujian Homebest Footwear & Garment General Manager Shannon Chen, said: "We participated in the Fair's Fashion Parades and these enabled more buyers to recognize our company."

Exhibitors, buyers network at Global Sources 35th Anniversary
Buyers, exhibitors and other VIPs attended Global Sources' 35th anniversary party at AsiaWorld-Expo on April 16. The event celebrated the company's long history of bringing Asia's quality manufacturers together to trade with international buyers.

Global Sources Chairman and CEO, Merle A. Hinrichs, said: "After 35 years, our commitment to be the source of international trade success for our advertisers and quality buyer community is stronger than ever."
